The Intrada ALPR library is a license plate recognition engine
that can be used to build applications, in which the automatic
recognition of vehicle registration plates is necessary. Intrada ALPR
is used by many leading companies as an OEM component in Intelligent
Traffic Systems for law-enforcement equipment, parking applications,
and traffic analysis/management systems. It is also the heart of a
number of Dacolian software products like Intrada
Handheld and Intrada
Parking.
Intrada ALPR offers an extremely flexible API that
accommodates for the easy handling of varying imaging conditions and allows
for flexible trade-offs between high yield recognition, low error rates,
processing time, and recognition confidence. Intrada ALPR is available
on different platforms like Windows (NT, 2000, XP), Windows CE (for hand-held
devices), UNIX (HP, Sun, QNX) and Linux.
The Intrada recognition engine requires no or only minimal user tuning
for a specific system setup. This makes Intrada ALPR extremely useful
for mobile applications where the operating conditions are only known
at runtime, back-offices that process images from multiple sources,
and ALPR-products where end-user tuning is not an acceptable solution.
System specific characteristics can be exploitet using INTRADA settings,
resulting in even better timing and recognition performances. These settings
contain only properties that are directly related to the visible image
properties and/or camera setup. The Intrada ALPR SDK includes tooling that
identifies the most appropriate settings for the application at hand.
